It's Never Too Late
The other day I read a quote attributed to Bruce Lee. It was one of those perfectly quotable quotes, so naturally I made it pretty and shared it on Instagram.
The quote was this:
To hell with circumstances, I create opportunities.
I. Love. This.
Bruce Lee was a powerful dude. The epitome of the mind-body master. He's a pretty good mentor from which to learn.
This quote got me thinking about how we often worry that we've missed our opportunity to do or be something.
Or that it's too late for us to set out on some new journey in our lives that's been calling to our soul for far too long.
The truth is, you're probably right. You may have missed THAT opportunity.
But who is to say you can't create another one?
Just because it didn't work out then doesn't mean you get to take the passenger seat in your life and watch it speed by.
Another great quote from Mary Kay Ash, goes like this:
"There are three types of people in this world, those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who wonder what happened."
You're by no means destined to be any one of those. The only way you will is by choosing to do so...be it consciously or unconsciously.
It doesn't matter which you choose, the important thing to remember is that you always have a choice. Always.
The only limitations on your options are the ones you impose on yourself. That's right, you're either your greatest ally or your own worst enemy.
And don't think you get to pick be one or the other once and it's over. I find myself on either end almost weekly. Daily even. You must consciously choose how you want to live your life.
Once you do, you'll quickly realize it's not too late. It may have felt like it, but that was just a feeling. Feelings can be a little misleading sometimes.
And that's ok because now you know the truth.
It's not too late.
It never was.
And it never will be.
